In the 1880s there were only two houses and two small farms. In 1882, Simrishamn-Tomelilla railway was opened. Since then, Gärsnas developed in many ways. Here, we bring just a few places worth of visit while in Gärsnas.
Café and Galleri Blå is settled in an old farm in Gärsnas, carefully preserved in its original shape, with beamed ceilings and wooden floors. Galleri Blå is known for its exhibitions of many established artists.
There is also a special section with graphics, art books and crafts. In the gallery space, Jazz and folk music concerts are often performed.
Haven in Gärsnas is a garden, shop, café and a gallery of about 5000 square meters. Haven consists of different spaces with different characters, exhibitions, various events and projects during the year.
In Haven one can walk around the beautiful garden, look around the ehibitions, check among furniture, pots and other furnishings in the store or just sit down in the café or in the orangery and enjoy.
One of the most known flee-markets in Österlen is certainly the Lundins Lada in Gärsnas It is an old farm turned into a permanent flee-market, and it is open every saturday, all year around.
Here you can find ceramics, lamps, glass, books, Lp´s and CD´s, different electronics, tools, clothes and even furnitures. It is hard not to find what you looking for.
Gärsnas is just a few miles away from the coast of Österlen and sandy beaches. The main road and trains are connecting Gärsnas with all the places in Österlen.
